PEDAGOGICAL APPROACH

Keeping in mind the recent changes in the educational perspective, our pedagogy focuses on the need to instill critical thinking and problem-solving skills to make students ready for the intricacies of the contemporary world. Through our teaching learning methods, students are expected to attain conceptual clarity and become learners for life. This broader pedagogical approach is most tellingly illustrated in our teaching paradigm of different disciplines that include language, humanities, mathematics, science etc.

In the domain of language teaching, the teachers, by drawing on the audio-visual materials, on one hand and by using the target language actively in the class, on the other, embolden the learners to learn/acquire the direct and spontaneous use of the language. In accordance with the latest reforms in educational policy, our goals, with special reference to language curriculum, are primarily twofold: attainment of a basic proficiency and the development of language as an instrument for abstract thought and knowledge acquisition. It follows that the objectives of language teaching are to ensure that the learners develop fundamental competency to comprehend, to express effortlessly and to write coherently in the target language.

Science gives us an approximate truthful view and discovers the set of laws that govern our Natural World. Seen in this light, science becomes more of a methodology that goes well beyond the mere functionalities of a subject. Transcending the clichéd pedagogical approach of rote learning and keeping in mind the recent educational development across the globe, we encourage our students to learn science by doing that includes simple experiments, fun activity and extensive use of the audio-visual resources. This pedagogical approach essentially gives the students unique opportunity to comprehend the complex scientific concepts, to develop critical worldview and logical thinking. Our aim is to make sure that our students learn not only what to think about certain things but also how to think about nearly everything.

In the sphere of mathematics teaching, we encourage our students to develop a scientific acumen coupled with a mathematical skill. Our teaching approach in mathematics, which draws on concrete and audio-visual resources to build a child’s understanding of abstract mathematical topics, is designed to help students to be able to pursue assumptions to logical conclusions. In our schemata, we focus on the teaching of mathematics in a way where students should be able to understand the fundamental structure of mathematics and solve meaningful problems.
